Dedicated to the memory of David Rolfe

This site is a tribute to David Rolfe. He is much loved and will always be remembered.

Born 27th May 1954, David grew up in Stoke by Nayland where he attended Stoke by Nayland school.
He was a loyal, caring and attentive son to his mum Kathleen Mary Rolfe who sadly passed away last year.
Devoted Husband to Jenny, beloved Dad to Shelley and Carly (and father in law to Kerrin) and much loved Grandpa to Poppy and Lyra.

The most hard working, conscientious and dedicated man you’re ever likely to have met. His first job was at Bypass nurseries before starting his career at Securicor in 1978. He saw it through various company changes (Securicor, Omega Express, DHL and finally Yodel) over his 43 year career until his recent retirement.

It was at Securicor that he met Jenny in 1978, and after a brief engagement they got married on 6th January 1979. Their first daughter, Shelley was born 10 months later followed by their second daughter Carly in 1981. Jenny and David celebrated their Ruby wedding anniversary 2 years ago.
David was the ultimate family man. Providing for, caring for and always going above and beyond for his family. Fun and funny (when he wasn’t having a sulk) he laughed and smiled a lot. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed cooking for his family, gardening and doing whatever he could to help people out. He loved his dogs, having had two golden retrievers, Max and Sam. He also loved aeroplanes and the family spent many happy days out at Duxford and Mildenhall air shows.
Family holidays to St Leonards on Sea, Sussex and Paignton, Devon were an annual highlight whilst Shelley and Carly were growing up and also over recent years with the grandchildren too.

A kind and generous man, he treated his daughters friends as part of the family, always providing a safe and welcome place to be (as well as an uncomplaining taxi service).
He was an amazing Dad, and an awesome Grandpa to Poppy and Lyra. He was a big part of their lives and always made time to play and have fun with them.

He will be greatly missed and very fondly remembered. We are grateful for so many wonderful happy memories.
